EPTFE is chemically inert and hydrophobic, so it is not affected by chemicals or water that can cause other materials to lose their mechanical properties at high temperatures.

EPTFE has a highly porous structure that allows signals to travel at close to the speed of light that reducing loss or distortion to even less.
